What Are We Learning?
Bible: Moses is Diligent
The students will know the ten plagues brought on Egypt and understand the meaning of diligent and how Moses was diligent in the job God gave him to do. They will learn how they can be diligent at home and in school.
Memory verse: The plans of the diligent lead to profit. Proverbs 21:5
Spelling words: (double consonants)

High Frequency words: two Monday Challenge words: lesson really
Reading/Phonics: We will learn that k comes before i and e and c comes before the other three.. (a, o, u) We will also work on the following blends: spl, spr, scr, and squ. Readers will come home for extra practice on Thursday. We will have a Phonics test on Thursday covering blends and special sounds we are working on.
Language/Writing: We will keep working on writing complete sentences and using punctuation in our writing assignments and journals.
Math: One half of a number, time to the half hour, greater/less than
We will continue daily speed drills and have our weekly Math test on Tuesday covering the concepts we have been working on in class.
Science: We will finish our unit on Enjoying the Animal World. The animal research projects are due Wednesday, Sept. 8. The students will present these projects in class. We will have a quiz on this unit on Thursday, Sept. 9. We will review in class and a study guide will come home Tuesday to help review at home. They will also bring their science books home to review and will need to return them to school by Thursday. We will have a special animal snack and watch a movie to finish our unit on animals on Friday.
