NCS Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

Parents In Christian Service

What is PTO?

PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) is NCS’s parent organization which organizes and runs the various activities and school fundraisers throughout the school year. Our primary goal is to “serve” our school, students and school leaders in making NCS a great place.

PTO aids teachers with classroom parties and school-wide activities such as the Talent Show, Grandparents Day, and the Staff's Breakfasts & Lunches. PTO also assists in honoring the teachers throughout the year as well as during Teacher Appreciation Week. Additionally, PTO plans and implements Rewards Parties and welcomes new students and families to NCS. The profits from some fundraisers go into the school’s general fund and help keep the cost of tuition down while other profits go into the school’s building fund for the eventual expansion of NCS.

How Can I Get Involved?

PTO is currently meeting once a month under the direction of Vicki Williams-Gribble.  Everyone is invited to join the group which monthly reviews upcoming plans and where volunteers undertake various duties. Whether you are brand new to NCS or you’re an old hand, we would love to see all of you there. If you have any questions regarding PTO, contact Vicki Williams-Gribble at 304-615-9964 or vlwillia@aol.com.

These three individuals will choose a PTO Coordinator who will work hand-in-hand with NCS to carry out the service components of PTO. The PTO Coordinator will be responsible for organizing PTO Members and helping ensure the success of this service organization.

All Subcommittee Chairpersons and Support Team Members must be approved by the Principal and the School Board Represenatative.

Focus

At the outset of each year and throughout the course of the year, the Principal, School Board Representative and Pastor will determine goals for the school year. They, along with the PTO Coordinator, will utilize willing parents to serve as both Subcommittee Chairpersons and Support Team Members.

Budget

“We Trust God For ALL Our Needs.”

A budget determined by the NCS School Board will be assigned to PTO. All expenditures must be approved by both the Principal and the School Board Representative. Purchase Approval Forms must be signed for each expenditure. Accounting services will be conducted by the NCS Administration, be run through the NCS Books of Record and reported on the monthly financial report to the NCS School Board Finance Team.

Meetings

Meetings will be conducted once per month at a consistent time, day and place.  The Principal and/or School Board Representative must be in attendance to conduct a meeting.
